The original Forekaster model was designed for XC bikes for wet weather, while the new version is aimed directly at modern trail bikes with a short travel (100-130 mm) - the so-called downcountry segment. The new Forekaster (July 2022) is intended to be a golden jacket that rolls faster than the Minion or even the Dissector, but provides more predictable cornering, climbing and braking traction than the Aspen or Rekon.
